cl-zlib

The CL-ZLIB Compression Library defines an interface between Common Lisp and the zlib data compression library. zlib implements the compression methods used by the popular gzip program. CL-ZLIB gives you the ability to read and write files in gzip format, and to perform in-memory data compression and decompression.

cl-zlib runs under ACL version 6 on the Linux and Windows platforms, and relies on the presence of the zlib shared library (libz.so or zlib.dll, respectively).

CL-ZLIB was written by Alberto Riva? and can be freely downloaded from his Lisp page.

There is a portable implementation of zlib in PNG.

CL-PDF contains a foreign interface to zlib. Whereas cl-zlib only works with Allegro CL, the interface in CL-PDF uses UFFI and works with a number of implementations.

CL-ZLIB is now ported to UFFI and packaging with ASDF.
