tar
tar.lisp aspires to become a Common Lisp replacement for the tar program. Basic extraction from and creation of tar archives are currently supported. The TODO list includes support for more complex tar archives and adding support for cpio archives, but the current version should be useful for light to moderate use.
tar.lisp can still be accessed, but archive is its replacement.
Since tar originated and remains most popular on unix, it is probably the most appropriate category.
