Some insufficiently socialized moron of a script kiddie seems to think that defacing the front page is a test of his impressive hacking abilities. I'm certainly impressed, but not in the way I expect he was hoping. Until his attention is distracted by something shinier (which I'm expecting should take about ten minutes), editing of CLiki sites is disabled. Apologies for the inconvenience, and in the meantime if you'd like to send his site admins a nice note, the relevant log entries seem to be

Please remember that the owner of that IP address may not be the actual culprit: that site may have been hacked. (Although I doubt very much that it could have been hacked by the same person, if r00ting(sic) a Wiki is a fair demonstration of his skills)

Some fairly small changes that I hope will be useful nonetheless -

There is now a link in the page header to create new pages. This requires javascript
The search result page now shows matching words on each page

Added a couple of new features last night.

Cookies should now be more working than they were previously, especially if you use a proxy that passes unsolicited cookies or something like that
New markup for `download' links: see examples at db-sockets and araneida
(the reason for the new markup): by appending ?download to a page name, you should get an automatic redirect to the package itself. This can be used with e.g. wget -

The intention is that automatic package downloaders can be written, so please be sure that your download link refers directly to the tarball or whatever package format you're providing. Future users of cliki-get yourpackage will be unimpressed if they end up with an html page instead
We also are running a redirector for packages in vn-cclan: URLs of the form http://ww.telent.net/cclan/packagename.tar.gz redirect to the user's preferred vn-cclan mirror. The first time you use this service you will be prompted to choose a mirror, which will be stored in a cookie for subsequent visits.

I spent some time recently cleaning up internals in the CLiki codebase, and we're now running on the new version. There should be no user-visible differences, except that

The full-text index is now updated whenever a page is saved, so searches will find recently-created pages without my manual assistance
The behaviour with pages that have dots in their names (which has never really been supported even if it seemed to work) may just possibly seem to work more often these days

Let me know (using CLiki Bugs, or email if you can't get to that page) if anything else seems to have been broken in the process
